Printmaking and ceramic value does not rely on status or level of social acceptance, but the use of each medium and their combination has offered me wider possibilities to express and convey my ideas and images. My experience of combining printmaking and ceramics has lead me to realize that both mediums share a similar path within a time oriented process. This means that in order to pursue an image or an object, the artist must be attentive to the details and technical processes in order to achieve the purpose. Therefore, the artist needs to focus on the aspect of craftsmanship in both media to convey a final product that we call art.
My work with ceramics has two dimensions. One is the work with ceramics itself. The second is the use of ceramics as a mixed medium. When I only work with ceramics, I create pots and vessels. The significance of creating art through ceramics is that each piece is the materialization of the centrifugal force of the wheel and of the centripetal force of the artist (figure 7). Both forces constitute the container. Moreover, the spiral movement is the key force of the universe materialized in each object. This materialization of the force into the object connects to my inner experience and idea of the folding and unfolding universe.
